Tearing up to these songs today...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njwvIPJlPN0&feature=fvsr
It's been a while since I've thought about the mess I was once in about 6 months ago. Seems just like yesterday, actually. The Adele song depicts my emotions today perfectly.

That one is just pretty dang good, too.
Anyone know how to just get the video on my page instead of just having the link on there?
Hope all you bloggers are having a better Monday than I am.

Ali

Introducing...
What I Wore To Work Wednesday!!!
I'm going to start this new link up! However, I don't know how to post link ups and I need to make a cool header/picture for my title of it.
Which I will get to, just not tonight.
I think it's fun to post different outfits so I'm going to put pictures of my outfits from that week when I worked. And the posts will be on Wednesdays...obviously.
So...here's number one! For this week I only have one because I didn't think to do this thing until today.

(Navy Blue Skinny Jeans--Lauren Conrad $8.80, Kohl's; Gray Shirt--American Eagle $10;
Green Sweater--Old Navy $40; Belt--Maurices $10)
I just loved this outfit. The picture isn't the clearest so you can't tell that the jeans are navy blue. I rolled the bottoms of the pants too.
I also wore brown flats from Famous Footwear--$15.
What do you all wear to work??

Ali

When people play the piano before choir.
I really think they're just trying to show off...but discreetly.
That's all.

Funny things.
A few things I hear from people while working in a department store...
1. "That looks really good on you!" Obviously this is something I will hear...but honestly people...some things just don't look good on you.
2. Here's a story. I am not claiming that I am a fashion designer who knows everything about clothing, but I've worked in retail for a couple years now and I'd say I know more than most.
Some lady came up to me and asked me to find a top to match this one skirt in the store. First off, I don't think anyone should be caught dead in this skirt. Second, I showed her a navy sweater and she didn't want to wear navy because "the navy that was in the skirt looked black." Lady, the navy looks navy. And adding a navy sweater to the outfit makes it look even more navy!
Crazy people I tell ya..
3. We also have a promo going on with either 15%, 20%, or 30% off. Depending on what they got in the mail. Well, our motto is "Yes We Can" so when people come in and say they "forgot" their 30% (coincidence, right?...no.) we have to give it to them. It grinds my gears so much! Seriously, you didn't get a higher percentage off so quit lying about it! It happened to me more than once at the end of an eight hour shift so let me tell you, Ali was not a happy sales associate.
Sorry if you are these types of people. Well, not really because I KNOW none of you are!

Ali

Yeowch.
I work in a department store and sometimes (like today and tomorrow) my shifts are 8+ hours long.
This weekend I work(ed) Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
These shifts are awful too. Okay, so I might be exaggerating, but right now, they're bad. I mean, I feel like I'm going to collapse by the end of the night I'm THAT tired!
I hafta tell ya somethin' 'bout these shifts, too. There ain't no sitting around. I'm talkin' about putting other people's messes of clothes away for EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT.
Okay, okay...so I get a lunch break. FOR A HALF HOUR. That's it! Nothing else. All the rest of the time I'm running my booty off putting clothes back so there aren't a ton left over at the end of the night.
Here's my point...
My feet HURT. I mean, they're KILLING me! Obviously it's because my shoes aren't the best to wear. I like to wear flats or ballet flats because they're fashionable. We can't wear tennis shoes (as much as I would love to for the comfort) so I really have no other option than to wear flats.
Are there any flats you'd swear by to not make your feet hurt? I'm willing to try almost anything! Within reasonable price, though.
I NEED to do something here!

Ali

Notice anything...
NEW???
I changed around my whooooole blog! I thought this looks a little more...me. It's a little more plain, which I kind of am. I mean, I love color, but this is more simple...which in my description it says I am. :)
I hope you guys like it! AND..any advice on what else to do with it? I kind of want a creative title spot with maybe a picture but I'm not that technologically advanced to do it myself. I'll pay someone, too!
Hope you loves are having a great start to the weekend.

Ali

Love bird.
Guess what bloggy friends?
I went on a date on Wednesday! It went swell and I am just so happy.
That's really all I have to say. However, I'm already falling and I don't think that's such a good idea.
Decisions decisions.

Weekend Recap
This weekend was so much fun.
On Thursday I coached gymnastics until 8pm and then packed up and drove 3 hours home.
Friday I woke up semi-early and had an appt for my feet (f.l.a.t.) to get orthotic supports in my running shoes. After that I drove again a little north if the cities go get ready for a wedding. Seriously, I just love weddings. I had so much fun, drank too much, and met a cool person. I stayed at the hotel that night and then my mom and I drove back home Saturday where I laid around all day. Literally I stayed in my pajamas and napped all day. #toomuchdancing
Sunday I went to my hometown's ever popular Craft Fair with my grandma where I bought a cute framed picture holder. I'll take a picture of it later! And I also bought a mix that you mix with wine to make it a slushy drink. And might I say...YUM. I sampled it there and it is so good.
After that I went home and started a project for one of my classes. It's an "I Am" project displaying who I am. Here is the finished product:
Cute, no?
I also watched the Vikings blow their first game. Ugh. So disappointing.
I then drove through the cities to pick up my camera that I left in someone else's room at the wedding. #forgetfulme. Then back to my apartment where I finished some homework and went to bed. All while talking to that cool person. :) I'm kinda a happy girl.
Hope you all had as awesome of a weekend as I did.
With love,
Ali

10 Days of You Challenge--A Picture of Yourself
One Picture of Yourself
I don't really take pictures of myself so this is really the only recent one I have. Obviously I'm not really smiling...but I love to smile and I smile and laugh all the time.
I'll post a picture of myself tomorrow with something fishy!
Again, no real Internet to post from my computer with real pictures. :(
I really enjoyed doing this 10 Day Challenge. I hope you all enjoyed getting to know me more. :)
Hope you all are having a great week! I'm one class and four hours of coaching away from having a great weekend at a wedding and home! Man, I love weddings but they make me nostalgic, anxious, and sad...but happy at the same time!
With love,
Ali

10 Days of You Challenge-- Two Songs
Two Songs
Really??? TWO Songs?! Not possible.
I love everything country. Eeeeverything. Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, T Swift, Eric Church, Martina McBride. Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton. I can't name two songs. Pathetic, I know. Sorry.
I attend multiple concerts and music festivals each year, most happening in the summer. I have so much fun. Winstock 2012! Anyone want to come with??
Seriously Winstock is so much fun. It's like WeFest, but a little bit smaller and WAY cheaper so of course, it's better. :)
Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend!
With love,
Ali

10 Days of You Challenge-- Catching up!
3 Films
One. Stand By Me. My favorite movie ever.
Two. The Notebook. Love the love story but now I can't watch it because I'm too bitter.
Three. Wedding Crashers. So funny.
I'm a huge movie buff but not much of a critic...so I love every movie...almost.

10 Days of You Challenge--Four Books
Four Books
One. The Monster At The End of This Book. My all time favorite children's book.
Two. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Or any book by Jodi Picoult, really. I have read every single book of hers and she is by FAR my favorite author.
Three. Two Kisses for Maddy by Matt Logelin. SO many tears were shed while reading this one. I love memoirs. A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard is amazing, too.
Four. Much like Jodi Picoult, Emily Giffin has such heartfelt books, too. I just started reading her books and I am already (after about 1.5 months) on the last book of hers so I am soon going to be waiting for her new one to come out next year!
I am such an avid reader and LOVE to lose myself in a book. If I am having a bad day and can't get some things off my mind, reading is so relaxing and therapeutic for me. I have been reading so many books lately so it's really hard to name just four, but I hope anyone reading this enjoys my list of books and tries one or all of them for herself!
With love,
Ali

10 Days of You Challenge--Five Foods
Five Foods
One. Spaghetti. Not just any spaghetti, though. Has to be my mom's to be my favorite!
Two. Fried Sunfish. Again, not just any fried sunfish, it has to be my dad's!
Three. Olive Garden. Mmmmmmmmm.
Four. Double Stuff Oreo Cookies.
Five. Most any cereal. Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Crunch Berries, you name it, I eat it. Except for the generic brands. I'm picky that way.
With love,
Ali

10 Days of You Challenge--6 Places
Hellooooo lovely people! I have my internet back! Only because I'm at home, but oh well. It still works!
Six Places
One. My home. Nothing compares to going home to my family.
Two. Cabo San Lucas. I went here in March for Spring Break and I would do anything to go back there with the people I went with.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Three. The road. I cannot stand running on a treadmill. I just love running outside no matter the temperature. My shoes say Carpe Viam for a reason!
Four. The deer stand. Hunting season is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I just love sitting up in the deer stand watching the sun rise in all its peacefulness.
Five. My bed. I blame my love of sleep on how comfy my bed is. Sleepingly perfect.
Six. A stage. I sincerely love putting on shows for people with my love of theatre and music. The nerves are such an adrenaline rush and I ache for that excitement daily.
With love,
Ali
